Pets Barn donated £100 voucher for the Tibberton Summer Ball raffle. It was won by Irene Johnson from Trowbridge who then gave it to the Gloucester branch of Cats Protection. Gloucester Coordinator, Susan Pigott, said "Cats Protection is very grateful for all the veterinary work from Pets Barn Veterinary Group. Thank you !"

Mary Meadows, veterinary nurse from Pets Barn Hartpury, ran in the Bath Half Marathon and raised £1290 for the Parkinson's Disease Society.

April '09 - National Pet Month
Running from 4th April to 4th May National Pet Month is a charity event to promote awareness of pet needs and to ensure ‘Healthy pets are happy pets’. Throughout the country veterinary practices will be taking part and helping pet owners enjoy their pets and help them live longer, happier lives.  There is a photographic competition (entries by 14/4/9) and you can submit details of any National Pet Month event you organise to the Post National Pet Month competition, click here for more details.

Pets Barn' Ten Top Tips for responsible pet ownership
1. Think carefully before getting a pet and learn about its special requirements
2. Ensure your pet is sociable and well trained
3. Provide a nutritious and well balanced diet
4. Provide suitable housing and bedding
5. Clean up after your pet and worm it regularly
6. Protect against disease.
7. Prevent unwanted litters and neuter your pet when appropriate
8. Groom your pet regularly
9. Control your pet and ensure it is properly identified
10. Take out pet insurance to cover against unexpected veterinary fees and third party liability.

Make sure your pet is registered with a vet and you know how to contact them in case of an emergency.
Pick up a comprehensive hand out on Preventative Health Care for your pet. It is available free of charge from your nearest practice.

Congratulations to our Vet Nurse, Jess Lorenzelli and her husband Sam on the birth of their daughter Martha. Mother and baby both doing well.

Animals at Home will transport you and your pets wherever and whenever needed and can react to any emergency.

October - Staff News
Jess has left Cinderford on maternity leave. We are pleased to welcome back Lisa Mann who will be her temporary cover. Lisa has previously worked for us as a locum and will be with us until the middle of December.
Izzy will be leaving on 12th December. She will be replaced by Debbie Anslow who is coming back to nursing after having her own child.
We also welcome onto the team Meg O’Kelly, a Vet Nurse of many years experience who will be helping us out while our nurses are on maternity leave.

June - New arrival
Congratulations to our Vet Nurse, Emma, on the birth of her first baby, a lovely little girl.
Ariana was born on Sunday 15th June and weighed just under 7 lbs.
Emma & her partner, Mark have received a bouquet of flowers and a little teddy bear with best wishes from all the staff.
We hope they are enjoying their new role as parents and not having too many disturbed nights.

April 2008 - National Pet Month - photographic competition winners

Pets Barn successfully raised funds for National Pet Month
by holding an Art & Photographic Competition.
Judging was by local action photographer Jo Talbot.

  
 

Junior 1st Prize went to Jade Ross with her dog Maisie
Adult 1st Prize went to Theresa Mitchell who photographed her 3 cats Molly, Topaz & Milly
